The geometry of a Lunar Eclipse is special. You the observer, right in the middle of the line joining the Sun and the Moon. Sun went down steadily in the west, Naina Peak & The Observer cast a shadow on the mountain face below. Although it was below the horizon, and not visible yet, we knew that the location of Moon was coinciding with our shadow.
